It was sometime in the hustle of the morning that I had to stop and feed my baby. I plopped on the couch, which is hard for me to do. I used to think stillness is only something I do when I think I deserve it. Yeshua is super kind about this lie I have believed and showed me through several mentors how to break covenants with Chronos and Kronos. More on that later.
My mind was all over the place – next steps for clients, task list for the practice, getting household chores done, groceries list, gymnastics, dinner plans etc.
I had been having some dialogue with Yeshua the entire morning but it was more of me being that friend that commandeers the conversation rather than allowing the other friend to speak.
In the middle of sitting down with a now sleeping baby, the Lord whispers so kindly – I just want you to enjoy your gifts today. No obligation. Just enjoy.
I looked down at my beautiful promise baby and snuggled him just a little tighter. Filled to the brim with gratitude.
Gratitude overcomes the curse of Jotham – which is related to ruler redemptive gift. If you don’t know what that means check out this link. https://theslg.com/content/seven-curses-videos
A few weeks ago I was at a funeral for a relative. I’ve been down a road of massive spiritual battles to overcome generational issues and relationship issues both physically and spiritually. There is HUGE FRUIT and provision here. I sat in a swing outside a special home and observed interactions of people very dear to me. There was immense gratitude for the process. For the journey. For the flow of life within this community of people.
It’s moments like that where time feels like it stops, even though the swing hanging from a tree kept its cadence. Engaging gratitude lifts us outside of time and space into a realm that houses our blessings. Those blessings are tangible and visceral, but when blocked by distraction or complaining, or just lack of knowing how to engage gratitude – we have no access to the enjoyment of our blessings to the degree Abba has provided.
Sometimes our attention is divided so much that sitting in a present moment requires a ton of will power. But there’s a gift in the stillness, and stillness isn’t a reward. It’s a pathway.
Gratitude produces peace. Gratitude also points to the nature of Jehovah Jireh. Rest is not only a provision but a requirement of our human existence. It’s been deeply ingrained in the social DNA of our culture that rest must be deserved.
But what if it’s a gift? Rest is a provision for us that pulls on the peace of God that rules in our heart and therefore the pathway of our trajectory in life.
So I bless your spirit with enjoying your gift(s) today. If you don’t know what they are, ask Yeshua. Rest/stillness is a provision given all the way back in Genesis that is still essential today. Step into the river of rest. Or sit by that river and engage gratitude for the right-now gift.
Even pain can be a gift, but that’s for another time.
“Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above; it comes down from the Father of lights [the Creator and Sustainer of the heavens], in whom there is no variation [no rising or setting] or shadow cast by His turning [for He is perfect and never changes].” James 1:7 AMP

Amen. Sitting here watching “Miss Peregrine’s Home for Pecular Children” and picking wool I bought two years ago determinedd to get sweaters made for my shop by the following winter. Resting today before my trip.
Beautiful timely reminder to be thankful today. Thank you, Megan!
I remember feeding my babies. LOVED those times to just stop, let down (the whole process of nursing helps with this!), and be IN the moment. What bundles of gifts our babies are!
